Hooked Clay

My newest work is related to hooked rugs. The art of hooked rugs from Cheticamp, Nova Scotia, has been my inspiration. Why not “hook” clay? I experimented with coloured clays and my little clay extruder, et voila. This exploration is just the beginning. I will continue to create 2D and 3D hooked pieces in clay. The pieces shown are all made of high-fire stoneware clay, coloured with ceramic stains, covered with a clear glaze.
